Overview

Our client is a leading European private equity firm focused on partnering with exceptional management teams to accelerate growth across technology, business services and healthcare. The firm is seeking a Commercial Operating Partner to work closely with portfolio company leadership and the investment team on value creation strategy, revenue acceleration and commercial transformation.

Position Summary

The Commercial Operating Partner will guide portfolio companies through high impact commercial initiatives and support CEOs and Chief Commercial Officers on strategic planning, pricing, sales excellence, marketing effectiveness and go to market optimisation. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to deal teams and will play a central role in building repeatable commercial capabilities across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with portfolio company management to design and deliver commercial value creation plans that support EBITDA growth and long term strategic aims
  • Lead diagnostic work on revenue performance, pricing, segmentation, customer retention and sales processes
  • Build action plans that strengthen core commercial functions such as sales operations, demand generation, channel strategy and account management
  • Support portfolio leadership teams on organisational design for commercial functions, including capability building and leadership hiring
  • Provide rigorous commercial due diligence support during new investments, including market analysis, competitor mapping and identification of value creation levers
  • Work with investment teams to track progress against value creation plans and provide clear reporting on financial and operational impact
  • Develop toolkits, benchmarks and repeatable playbooks to improve commercial performance across the portfolio
  • Coach and mentor portfolio commercial leaders and build strong relationships with senior executives

Candidate Profile

  • Strong track record in growth strategy, commercial excellence or revenue transformation
  • Experience as a Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, GM or equivalent senior commercial leader in a private equity backed company
  • Domain expertise in technology, business services or healthcare
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate commercial data into clear recommendations
  • Demonstrated success implementing pricing, go to market and sales performance improvement initiatives
  • Comfortable working with investment teams and senior management on complex strategic challenges
  • High level of gravitas, credibility and communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities.
