Technology Special Situations | South Florida (relocation supported)
Our client is an established technology-focused private equity firm managing multiple billions of dollars across successive funds, investing in control transactions in mature, mission-critical technology businesses. The firm specialises in complexity: take-privates, corporate carve-outs, and transformation situations where operational change, not market beta, drives returns. It invests behind deep in-house technical and operating resources and is currently deploying its latest flagship fund.
The role
The firm is hiring a Vice President for its investment team. This is a full-lifecycle seat: originating and evaluating opportunities, leading diligence workstreams, building and owning models and IC materials, executing transactions including financing, and driving value creation and exit planning alongside portfolio leadership. VPs manage associates, work directly with Partners, and hold meaningful responsibility on live deals from day one.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate take-private, carve-out and buyout opportunities in enterprise software, infrastructure software and technology services
- Lead diligence across commercial, technical, financial and legal workstreams, managing advisors and internal specialists
- Own complex operating models, valuation analyses and investment committee materials
- Support financing processes, transaction structuring and execution through close
- Monitor portfolio performance, contribute to board materials and value creation initiatives
- Mentor and develop associates
Candidate profile
- 3 to 8 years across private equity and investment banking, with meaningful technology deal experience; current Senior Associates and VPs at recognised buyout or growth firms strongly preferred
- Demonstrated execution on control transactions; carve-out or take-private exposure a distinct advantage
- Elite modelling and underwriting capability with genuine comfort in complexity
- Strong academic credentials
- Willingness to be based in South Florida; relocation fully supported
Compensation
Base salary of $250,000 with a target bonus of $200,000, plus significant carried interest participation in the firm's current fund from the outset (7 figures). Total package is designed to be at or above New York market for the level, with a materially better tax and cost-of-living position.
All enquiries are handled in strict confidence. Please share a resume and a summary of transaction experience.
