A leading global private equity firm is seeking an exceptional transformation executive to join one of its most strategically significant portfolio assignments of the year.
The portfolio company is a high-profile cybersecurity and defense services business.
The mandate is clear and time-bound: lead the separation and divestiture of three distinct business units from the platform over an 18 to 20 month period, working directly alongside the PE sponsor's senior leadership and a full suite of advisors including investment banks, legal counsel, and strategic consultants.
The Role
This is a full-time, salaried executive engagement for the duration of the programme. Compensation is structured with a base salary plus meaningful deal-by-deal bonuses tied to transaction completion. Given the scale and complexity of the deals involved, bonus potential is material and could reach seven figures across the assignment. There is also a genuine pathway into a broader Portfolio Operations role within the firm for the right individual.
You will be on-site in Washington DC. This is not a remote or hybrid engagement. The pace and complexity of the work demands a visible, embedded presence from day one.
What You Will Do
- Drive the end-to-end separation and divestiture of three business units from a complex, government-adjacent platform
- Own the finance, accounting, and integration/separation workstream across each transaction
- Work fluidly across strategy rooms and deal operations, comfortable operating at both altitude and in the weeds
- Interface with and coordinate across all advisors, investment banks, and internal leadership
- Navigate government and regulatory relationships with appropriate sophistication
Who You Are
- Proven track record in carve-outs, separations, or complex divestitures, ideally with a finance and accounting deal component
- Experience in industrial, defense, or government services sectors is advantageous
- High EQ: you can build genuine relationships with portfolio company management while representing the sponsor's interests with clarity and conviction
- Hands-on and execution-oriented. Not looking for someone who theorises about how this could be done
- Driven, intellectually sharp, and not at the stage of career where building a large team and delegating is the goal
- US citizenship is a requirement given the nature of the business and its government relationships
Logistics
- Washington DC based; weekly travel considered for the right candidate
- Target start: within 60 days
- Rate or salary structure open to discussion, though the sponsor has a strong preference for genuine buy-in over a transactional day rate arrangement
If you are the kind of operator who thrives in high-stakes, time-compressed environments and wants a role where your impact is directly tied to some of the most significant deals in PE this year, this is worth a conversation.
